things which keep bugging me
- still 2 for forum-posting-wiki-contributing people
- 3 different theme sets
- screenshots link @ main page doesn't lead to screenshots
- there are 2 screenies of 1.4 (stable)?!
- various wiki pages are just big black holes (such as FAQ or Installation_HowTo)
- forum got really (meaning really really really) a lot of features -> interface hell IMO
- average information level is quite low, usually a user will visit ako for 3 reasons: either he just heard about amarok and wants to know what it's all about, or he needs help, or he wants to install and needs information about how to. therefore most users visit ako IMO the idea should be to keep users informed, not just by blogging (which is working quite good actually), but also give more information which are usfull when actually using amarok, such as "week's featured artists/theme/script" present information about kickass features (usually descriptions about thoose get lost in the wiki and people only find them if they are explicit looking for them).
- to give some numbers: from sep to dec 06 about 30% (about 22% went straight to ako == 8% didn't intent to end up there) of visitors were recurring. this should be increased to about 50% (keeping in mind that high "new visitor" rate also results from user base growth (as in: user needs help with installing or wants to get information about amarok)
